Turn Insights Into Scalable, Guided-Actions
At Arch Systems, culture isn’t just a backdrop — it’s a driving force behind everything we do. We are a mission-driven company where passion and purpose meet, fueled by a belief that manufacturing can be smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable. Founded by Stanford engineers and rooted in global impact work, Arch has grown into a team of both manufacturing and data experts, solving complex challenges with creativity , collaboration, and integrity.
Arch Systems was born from a simple but urgent question: How can we keep critical infrastructure running for the people who depend on it most?
A broken water pump in rural Tanzania, 2011 — a symbol of the 40% of wells found to be non-functional.
2011In 2011, our CTO and Co-founder Tim Burke was in Tanzania, working to improve access to clean drinking water. While previous efforts had focused on drilling new wells, he and his team uncovered a more pressing problem: nearly 40% of existing wells were broken at any given time. Fixing them wasn’t a matter of awareness or will– it was a matter of data. They attempted to build an ultra-low-cost cellular monitoring system, but the technology wasn’t mature yet.
2015By 2015, Tim partnered with Stanford colleague Andrew Scheuermann to co-found Arch Systems with a vision to empower people everywhere to monitor and maintain vital infrastructure. Within a year, Arch’s early systems were helping to sustain wells that served tens of thousands of people in Tanzania.
But that challenge– the disconnect between infrastructure, data, and the ability to act, wasn’t limited to rural water systems. It was everywhere. It still is.
Manufacturing, the backbone of global progress, faces the same foundational problem: systems are complex, under-monitored, and too often opaque. What began with clean water evolved into clean data, and the birth of the ArchFX Platform.
Today, Arch is trusted by the world’s largest electronics manufacturers to unlock factory-wide insights, reduce waste, and accelerate continuous improvement– all while making operations more resilient and sustainable.
